Letter From the Metropolitan - July 26, 2007

July 26, 2007

To the President, Officers, and Dedicated Members of the SOUTHEASTERN
FEDERATION OF GREEK ORTHODOX CHOIRS AND MUSICIANS Conference:

My dearly beloved,

“Sing to the LORD, all the earth;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.”
1 Chronicles 16:23

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is my distinct pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 31st Annual Conference of the Southeastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Choirs and Musicians. I pray that the Holy Spirit (Paracletos) will continue to inspire and strengthen you in all your endeavors, both in your personal and professional lives. Most importantly, may He be with you during this beautiful conference, as you gather together as brothers and sisters in Christ, dedicated in faithful service to our Lord and His Holy Church, and to the sacred art of music.

As Orthodox Christians, we witness miracles and experience the presence of God in our lives everyday. Indeed, as your Hierarch and spiritual father, I feel it is both a blessing and miracle to have so many dedicated and talented individuals who serve our communities with a sincere and good heart. The Choir and Chanters dedicate their time energy and talent to assist our Clergy and inspire the faithful to spiritually connect and communicate with God in prayer. Your participation touches the hearts of our faithful where God resides. For this reason you are all so special to me, and I wanted to express my love and appreciation to all the members of the Southeastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Choirs and Musicians for the priceless gift of your dedication and commitment.

May you have a successful and spiritual assembly, as you “sing unto the Lord!”

With faithful commitment to His service, I remain
Prayerfully yours with paternal love in Christ,

+ALEXIOS
Metropolitan of Atlanta
